Video Demo of Dog having an Ultrasound Treatment
 |
Therapeutic ultrasound transmits sound waves that pass through the skin causing soft tissues to vibrate, which creates deep heat. As a result it increases blood flow to the area, delivering oxygen and nutrients and removing cell wastes. Ultrasound can increase tissue relaxation, scar tissue breakdown, reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation, reduce muscle spasms, and accelerate healing.

Video Demos of Dogs in the Aqua Paws Hydrotherapy Unit
 |
The
Aqua Paws hydrotherapy unit uses the fundamental attributes of water to provide low impact exercise that builds muscle mass and
develops muscle tone, increases strength and improves range of motion, augments balance, and enhances blood flow and sensory
awareness of impaired joints and limbs.

Hydrotherapy is beneficial
for
post operative rehabilitation following orthopedic surgery,
skeletal and muscular disorders, degenerative myelopathy,
neurological conditions and disease, peripheral nerve injury,
and recovery after spinal surgery. It is also used for
weight reduction, general fitness and stamina, and for
increasing mobility and flexibility in arthritic or elderly
dogs.

|
The water in the
Aqua Paws hydrotherapy unit supports about 40% of the
dog's body weight, which lessens the pressure on
joints, reduces pain, permits ease of movement, and
increases range of motion. The pressure exerted by the
water in the tank lowers swelling and causes fluid in
the body to disperse from areas of inflammation.
Walking on the treadmill increases that pressure,
which in turn improves circulation, bone density, and
muscle growth.

Using water's
natural buoyancy, resistance and heat, the
hydrotherapy unit speeds up the healing of inflamed
and injured tissue and diminishes pain, prevents
atrophy during the healing process, and expedites the
recovery period after surgery or injury. It is highly
beneficial for dogs who are recovering from elbow,
knee, hip or cruciate ligament surgeries, for dogs
with hip dysplasia or arthritis, and for older dogs
and overweight dogs.

Video Demo of Dog Balancing on the Bosu Ball
|

|
The Bosu Ball is used for core strengthening, increasing range of motion and flexibility, proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation,
sensory and perceptual stimulation, joint
alignment, and balance control.
Core strength is necessary to enable a dog to
control its body when jumping, turning or running
and is an essential part of preventing injuries.
